just over 7,000 square feet, the National Guard Armory
provides an expansive, blank space conducive for large
meetings, banquets, tradeshows, reunions, weddings,
etc. The facility includes a classroom, full kitchen
and stage. Set-up and rental fees required. The National
Guard has mandated that each event must have one law
enforcement officer on-site for every 100 people or
fraction of a hundred and one law officer outside.

facility comfortably holds 55 people for small meetings,
board retreats, company picnics, student groups, etc.
Set in Lone Star Lakes Park, site of the Annual Nansemond
Indian Tribal Pow-Wow, the location offers a semi-private
meeting environment away from the hustle and bustle
of the city. Amenities include a kitchen, outdoor
gas grill, screened porch, volleyball net, horseshoe
pit, basketball court, etc. Rental fees required.

Erected in 1922, the architecturally remarkable school
has been transformed into the elegant Suffolk Center
for Cultural Arts. The 62,880 square foot, state-of-the-art
Center features a 500-seat theater for educational,
civic and entertainment programs. A ballroom/banquet
hall, great hall, art galleries, gift shop, and an on-site
restaurant offering catering services are also available.
The facility also offers meeting places and classrooms
to support the teaching of dance, pottery, textiles,
photography, music, literature, aerobics, visual arts
and computer technology.
Rawls
Museum Arts: The Rawls Museum is an outgrowth of
the art programs first introduced by Rawls Museum in
1961. The ultra modern 4,800 square foot facility houses
two galleries and a gift shop with an adjacent art education
facility. Nationally known artists display here in affiliation
with the Virginia Museum of Fine arts. Included in exhibits
are paintings, sculptures, photographs and displays.
